Crossroads Case Management Volunteer

CROSSROADS CASE MANAGEMENT VOLUNTEER *Direct Resident Contact 

LOCATION: Crossroads- 5310 Carnegie Ave. Building B, Cleveland, OH 44103 

AVAILABLE TIMES: TBD (will be discussed with the case management team)

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Assist Case Management department with conducting Homestar assessments for residents 
  2. Assist residents with searching for and filling out housing applications  
  3. Assist residents with navigating social services portals 
  4. Assist with leading support groups (as needed) 
  5. Meet with residents during off hours (as applicable and appropriate) and enter notes into Mission Tracker

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Must have a personal relationship with Jesus 
  2. Must be passionate about ministering to men in crisis 
  3. Must have professional work experience in social work, counseling, mental health services, or another related field 
  4. Must have basic computer skills 
  5. Must be a self-starter and able to motivate people to work, learn, and grow 
  6. Ability and willingness to serve and communicate effectively with a diverse population 
  7. Patience and the ability to listen intently 
  8. Free of an addictive lifestyle 
  9. Understanding of the boundaries pertaining to the position  
  10. Abides by the TCM’s Statement of Faith at all times 
  11. Have the skills necessary to complete the tasks pertaining to the position 

 ONBOARDING EXPECTATIONS: 

  1. Attend Volunteering 101 Session 
  2. Complete Online Application 
  3. Sign Volunteer Waiver 
  4. Acknowledge Statement of Faith 
  5. Onsite visit/interview with Case Management staff 
  6. Background Check & Fingerprinting 
  7. Complete onsite training with Case Management staff 
  8. Complete Trauma Informed Care Training and Deescalation Training
