Rise Women’s Philanthropy Initiative

Providing a safe and secure environment for our residents, staff and visitors is a top priority. Rise members voted to support renovating the elevator at Laura’s Home. As the only elevator in the building, it serves as the primary means. building transportation for all residents and staff. From mom’s with strollers to residents with wheelchairs, we’re making Laura’s Home safer, and more accessible for everyone.

Rise members voted to support the soft costs and furnishings for the 16 units of transitional housing being built.

Rise members voted to make improvements including new cabinetry and shelving, a pantry, counterspace for a breakfast bar, a new toaster, two refrigeration units, two double 5-gallon beverage dispensers, and countertop ice and water dispenser.

Rise members voted to redesign the 5 resident lounges to accommodate varying challenges and meet the needs of the women and children. New furniture will provide a dignified and homey space for residents, while wall-mounted play panels will provide fun for children without requiring extra cleanup.

Rise members voted to support the creation of a 10,000 square foot youth space, expanded adult Resource Center, dedicated classroom space for adult learning and program hub, increased private office space and overflow sleeping space with attached showers and storage when rooms are full.
